  • What is the neighborhood like around The Vantage?

    The Vantage is located in the heart of Centretown, a vibrant neighborhood known for its walkability and convenience. You'll be within walking distance of grocery stores, cafes, restaurants, and the nightlife on Elgin Street. The building is also close to public transit routes, making it easy to get around Ottawa.

  • What is the garbage and recycling program?

    Yes, there are garbage chutes on every floor. Compost and recycling are located in the ground floor garage. 

  • What window treatments are included?

    Blackout shades are provided in the bedrooms and privacy shades in the living area.

  • What appliances are included?

    This apartment offers in-unit laundry as well as a fully-equipped kitchen with a stainless-steel fridge, stove, dishwasher, and microwave.

  • Are storage lockers available?

    Yes, storage lockers are located in the basement and the cost ranges between $35-$50/month. 

  • Is there bicycle storage available?

    Yes, bicycle storage is available free of charge and the bike room is located in the basement. 

  • Is the building smoke-free?

    Yes, we are happy to provide a smoke-free building.

  • How do I arrange for internet and cable services?

    The building is pre-wired for high-speed internet and cable. You can choose from our preferred providers, which will be listed in your move-in guide. They are already familiar with our building's infrastructure, ensuring a fast and easy setup process.

  • What is the security like in the building?

    The safety of our residents is our top priority. The building features 24/7 surveillance cameras in all common areas, a controlled-access entry system with key fobs for residents, and on-site staff during business hours.

  • How long does it take to find out if my application has been approved?

    Once we receive all required application documents, we'll process your application the same day. If approved, a residential property administrator will contact you by email with the next steps.

  • Can I apply if I’m out of the country?

    Yes, you can apply even if you're not currently in Canada. We can handle the entire application process with you through email.

  • Do I need a guarantor?

    Students (especially full-time students who do not work) will require a guarantor.

    The guarantor will provide their proof of income and will also be legally responsible, alongside the tenant, for the unit and rent payments.

  • Do I need insurance?

    Yes, each tenant must have insurance, and the requirements of this are contained in your lease. The best approach is to send the “Insurance” section of your lease to your insurance agent so they can assist you in securing the property type and amount of insurance.

    You are required to have tenant liability insurance when you move in and at all times while you are a District Realty tenant. Unit contents insurance is recommended.   • How do I book an appointment to view an apartment?

  • Is the building pet-friendly?

    Yes, we are a pet-friendly community.

  • How long is the lease term?

    All apartments are available on 12-month leases currently. We do not offer short term or furnished apartments.

  • When will the amenities be available?

    The following state-of-the-art amenities will be ready for your use on day one: Gym, Lounge, Games Room, Chef's Kitchen and Dining Room, Podcast Room, Theater, and Golf Simulator. The Rooftop Patio will be available for tenant use in the summer months.

  • What type of parking is available and what is the cost?

    Dedicated garage parking spots are available - $300/month.

  • What utilities are included in the cost of rent?

    Gas and water are included in the price of rent. Hydro is extra. 

    Hydro is separately metered. The tenant is solely responsible for arranging a service contract directly with Ottawa Hydro.
